Amaranth stem palya(harive dantu) recipe

Amaranth is rich source of iron, calcium,Vitamin A etc.This is very good for pregnant ladies,small children.
In this amaranth stem is used.It is very healthy because of fibre.
Children will like this very much.This palya will be good side dish for rice.
Required ingredients
Chopped amaranth stem:3cups
Tamarind:size of small almond
Salt:to taste
Jaggery:to taste
Coriander seeds:2 tsp
Black gram dal:2 tsp+1tsp
Grated coconut:1/2 cup
Curry leaves
Oil:3tsp
Mustard seeds:1 tsp
Red chilly:1
How to prepare amaranth stem palya 

Wash and cut amaranth stem into2 inch size.Cook them by adding salt jaggery and tamarind water.Cook them till water content evaporates and amaranth stem becomes soft.
Take 2 tsp of black gram dal and coriander seeds in a pan and fry them by adding little oil.Grind them with grated coconut to form coarse paste.Add it to cooked stem and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds,black gram dal and red chilly.When they splutter add curry leaves and pour it over the cooked amaranth stem.Mix well.
Amaranth stem palya is ready.
