Thuppa or ghee has got importance in Indian kitchen because of its good qualities.In Ayurveda ghee/ghrutha(clarified butter) has its own importance because of its medicinal values like cool in nature,
improves appetite.Thuppa is the Kannada name for ghee/clarified butter.If you prepare dosa with ghee dosa will be very tasty and healthy too.This should be papery thin,and cook on one side..It should be served hot.With this one can have a wonderful breakfast.
Required ingredients
White rice:2 cups
Boiled rice;1 cup
black gram dal:1/2 cup
Salt :to taste
Ghee:1 cup
How to prepare tuppa dosa
Wash and soak rice and dal separately for3-4 hours.
Grind them into smooth paste by adding sufficient water and mix them.Add salt and keep it for fermentation for7-8 hours.
Heat tava on medium flame,mix the batter and pour one ladle full of batter over tava.
Spread it in to thin circle by using back side of spoon.
Close the lid.Allow to cook for few seconds.
Open the lid,Add 3-4 spoon of ghee over it.Flip the dosa,serve hot with chutney.
